The pictures of Mirjana Stein-Arsic are expressive in colour, translucent and vary in nuances and tones. The transitions can be either intense or very fine. Colour combinations that arise spontaneously and blend into each other constantly create new impressions. The process of painting is dynamic. A silent dialogue is initiated with every newly drawn line and newly coloured surface. Like in a movie, imaginary pictures are strung together, by that continuously changing the composition of the painting. It is this kind of evolution and progression that makes the process of painting a stimulating and exciting experience.
Curriculum
Born in Belgrade in 1943; undergraduate studies in Technical Physics at the University of Belgrade; PhD at the RWTH Aachen; research fellow at the Research Centre in Jülich;
1980-1981studies in ‘free graphics’ at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf;
since 1977 participant in national and international exhibitions;
since 1978 member of ‘Kunstverein Jülich’;
since 2004 member of the Euregional Association “dreieck.triangle.driehoek e.v.” professional female artists in the region around the country-triangle Belgium-Germany-Netherlands;
since 2014 member of BBK Euregio Aachen e.v., Federal Association of Visual Artists, Germany;
main emphasis on acrylic and experimental painting and graphics.
